Hi Everyone!
« on: January 29, 2012, 10:15:05 PM »
I am in Santa Barbara and I just got Brain Evolution. I also have Brain Salon and have used Razor Sharp a couple of times (I really like it) and Ultra Deep Sleep once (I didn't fall asleep right away, but I think I slept more soundly). Tonight I will try Power Chill to relax myself before using Ultra Deep Sleep again.

I have been using Paraliminals by Learning Strategies for the past few months. I have benefited from them, but want to try this approach. Doing a course like this appeals to me. I will have to space them apart because I like my paraliminals and want to keep using them. So I guess no paraliminals for the next 6 months (!).

I learned about this from an NLP Mindfest (online event put on by Learning Stratagies) email. I was surprised to read that the technology Learning Strategies uses in their paraliminals (Holosync) is not compatable with Brain Evolution and that I should wait a week before starting Brain Evolution. This makes me sad :(. I was really looking forward to getting started with Transcendance. I downloaded the MP3 and everything. Oh, well.

I am hoping to increase my focus and productivity with this product. I am self-employed and I guess what I really want to do is get out of my own way and be able to take advantage of opportunities in life that present themselves. My time is my own, I want to make it count!

Take care and all the best to everyone!

Hi CaliKS,

Welcome to the forum. I'm about to start level 2 (tomorrow), and I'm really impressed by BrainEv thus far. My sessions have been fantastic. You say that you're goal is to get out of your own way and improve your overall creative reception and approach to life, and from my perspective, I do think BrainEv can really help with that.

As for it not being compatible with Holosync....who in the world made up these rules!? Who exactly said that, how do they know, and where is the evidence?? Maybe Tiffany or Karl, or anyone else on this forum can comment on that, but as far as I'm concerned, I just don't see the problem.

I've used audio entrainment for a very long time, mixed and matched and combined different technologies, and I've never had a problem.

I think it's all up to the individual.

Sincerely, Robert

Robert,

It said in the FAQ not to combine Holosync and Brain Evolution and recommended waiting a week before starting if making a switch.

I was thinking about it afterwards and am not so sure myself. The paraliminals use Holosync to put the brain in the best state for hearing the words that come into each ear (a different script is fed into each ear). This may be a different enough use of the technology than what you get when you use one of Holosync's own products that is much more similar to Brain Evolution. I think I will give it a go and see what happens.

I appreciate your input. It is helpful to hear from someone else with more experience.

Hi Keith,

I've read the same things, and even read posts on this forum saying not to mix Holosync and BrainEv, but I'm still like EXACTLY WHY??

I still don't see the problem. It's brainwave entrainment, not pharmacology, where it's probably not a good idea to mix adderall and zoloft. These are audio frequencies that entrain the electrical activity of the brain into specific patterns. If you don't have epilepsy, or some kind of sever psychological disturbance, then what's the big deal?

I think at best it's a bunch of hype, and at worst perhaps not a good idea for some people, but brainwave entrainment is not electroshock therapy, and there's nothing in the FDA that warns of the dangers of mixing brainwave entrainment programs.

I say if it works for you, great, and if it doesn't, then don't mix. Those so called rules aren't etched in stone, and the opinions that support those rules don't seem to be based on any reliable scientific or medical data.

I guess I believe more in the individual than I do the "rules", Keith. You never know until you just dive in.

Best regards,  Robert

Hi Keith,

Welcome to a wonderful, wondrous EV journey! I, too, came to BrainEV via the NLP Mindfest and had been using Paraliminals prior. I'm not one to wait patiently before starting a new project and I jumped right in. Since the Holosync in the Paraliminals is a slightly watered-down version, it never even occurred to me to take a break between programs. I made the decision to commit 100% to BrainEV and other than the odd bout of Brain Salon's Power Chill (mmmmmm  8)), I am not "using" anything else.

As Robert posted before me, it is your intention that sets the stage. If you are raring to go - go for it and enjoy the adventure!

Hi Keith,

Welcome to the forum!  You have found an excellent resource and group of people to help you along your entrainment journey.

We do recommend that you not mix long-term entrainment methods such as Holosync with BrainEv.  The purpose behind this is that you do not want to overwhelm the brain with too much entrainment.  Our research shows that listening too much can desensitize you to brainwave entrainment stimuli - in the same way that people living near noisy environments (such as next to train tracks or airports) adjust to no longer "hearing" the constant bombardment of loud noises.

We have also found that excessive sleepiness can occur while using too much brainwave entrainment, which appears to be a brain defense mechanism.  Often a few days of rest will sort things out, which is another reason we proscribe that you take every 7th day off for rest and reflection.  It is often in the times of silence when the most growth and change will occur.

Please feel free to ask questions or keep us up to date on how things are progressing.

Right on, Tiffany!!

By far the best explanation I've heard.

Hi Keith, Robert and Tiffany,

I have been reading this post with interest and it makes me think..... to be honest I don't know the answer either. Tiffany gave you the 'official' response above, which makes sense. Certainly the first time round with BrainEV I followed their instructions to the letter, one session per day with one day off for four weeks, then up a level. To be honest, the results I got were so amazing that I am still raving (nine months on!). Neither did I see any reason to add in extra sessions as BrainEv was already delivering so much. Who says more is always better?

You may want also to consider that individual brains seem to react very differently to entrainment. I loved BrainEv and had such a smooth sail until level 5. I also used Holosync and can't remember one day of smooth sailing - I didn't experience anything at all in session and acted like the worst kind of monster during the remaining 23 hours of the day. See Dreamer's comment about Ohmharmonics (under Coffee Shop), she liked what she heard and then got a cracking headache later, yet no problems with BrainEv.

Tiffany has hit the nail on the head with sleeping being the brain's response to entrainment exertion. I remember being more or less unconscious (cannot say if I slept or not as I just 'disappeared' into the session) for the first or even second week at each BrainEv level. I took my increasing ability to remain awake as a sign of my brain getting stronger/fitter/adapting to BrainEv. You may notice the same trend, i.e. sleep/zoned out at the beginning of each level which decreases over time. In level 5 the entrainment exertion led to me experiencing headaches post session - though this too varies with individuals.

One reason I chose to stay clear of other entrainment products was I genuinely wanted to know if BrainEv worked. If one is two-timing Holosync and BrainEv entrainment, how can you decide which product is working for you? I would point out thought, that BrainEv has the most incredible array of effects. For example in level 5 I 'spontaneously' knew how to cure my body pain - I didn't ask for that, or seek it, but it came. I also didn't do BrainEv to cure insomnia, but I slept like a babe for the first time in years. I liked focusing on one product (BrainEv) and observing how amazing and unpredictable and brilliant the brain is.

On the other hand, Robert has years of experience (and thus may have an entrainment-fit brain!) and has no ill effects to report. Now that I am on round 2 of BrainEv, I mix and match, intuitively decide how much, how long and when. And like Robert, I cannot point to any ill effects.

I hope all our comments help you find the ideal routine for you! May you blossom whichever choice you make. Enjoy the journey, Pure Bliss

I think Pure Bliss gave the best explanation in one simple point. If you are using more than one product, how do you know which one is working, or more to the point, how do you know if they are negating each other?

Thanks everyone for your comments and feedback. I probably was only listening to watered down Holosync because it wasn't one of their products. I definitely agree with Pure Bliss that brains are different and you never know how you will react to entrainment. It is helpful to know that sleepiness is a sign I am overdoing it (or at least stretching myself).

In the end I decided to not wait and I jumped into Brain Evolution at the beginning of last week. I am now into my second week of level 1 and will post about that in a different thread on the main board. I am also using Brain Salon (Power Chill, Razor Sharp, and Ultra Deep Sleep), but it is short term entrainment so I am not that concerned about overdoing it.

This is my first experience using a forum and I like it. In the end you only get out as much as you put into something, so I will do my best to keep up with it. I like the idea behind the product and I like the product.

I'm in.
