Level 7 ~ concerns
« on: February 02, 2012, 12:30:54 PM »
So, I have proceeded through the first 6 levels, and I must admit I have been very pleased. I have experienced many positive results as promised ~ clearer thinking and wonderful levels of calmness throughout the day are the most noticeable. So, after finishing Level 6, I proceeded to make the leap and ordered Level 7. I just started it this week.

I have to say that from the start, my experience with Level 7 has been, well, disconcerting. Listening to it sounds like I am listening to a cd that is scratched and stuck with pulsating sounds, like a jerkiness. Just the opposite of the relaxing experiences I had with Levels 1 through 6. I find myself thinking maybe my cd player is malfunctioning, it is that, well, irritating. But I take off my headphones and take a look at my cd player, and all is playing correctly.

Just to let everyone know, I went through Levels 1 through 6 exactly according to direction. I listened religiously each week, 6 times a week, then took a day off. I gave a month to each level. I loved the results.

But Level 7 is a completely different animal. I find myself feeling very anxious and irritable after listening. Oh, and by the way, I am not listening to the 15-minute "pick me up" at the end, only Level 7. Don't think I could take any more "pick me up" than I am already getting, ha!

Anyway, I have already sent an email to Brain EV support, but wanted to post here as well to see if anyone had any thoughts. I have to say, that after such a wonderful experience with Levels 1 - 6, I am really disappointed with my experience thus far in Level 7. I have suspended listening to Level 7 after 4 sessions, the 4th session being just a couple of hours ago. Any thoughts, suggestions, or similar experiences ~ or any positive experiences! ~ with Level 7 are appreciated. Thanks all!

Hi Jim,

Thanks for your post.

Gosh, I'm sorry to hear that you're having troubles with Level 7. This certainly is a very different *type* of session.

I agree that it does sound a little "harsher" than the earlier levels. This is purposeful. The tones were made more obvious, and the volumes increased, to help provide users with a more powerful experience. Experiments have shown that volume directly affects entrainment results.

Maybe you could try at reduced volume for a while and see how that goes?

In the meantime, I'm going to pass this on. There may be other ways we can make this more pleasant to listen to.

Jim had sent this same feedback in email but I thought it would be helpful for other people to read my response.  This also includes some of my own experiences with level 7:

The idea with level 7 is to take your entrainment to the next level and it sounds like it is doing just that!

From a personal standpoint I believe I know what noise you are talking about and it grates on my nerves.  My teeth would start to hurt after awhile.  After a few weeks the feeling passed.  Level 7 does try to take you out of your regular pattern to a level above where BrainEv left you.  There will be bumps along the way.

I don't believe (but I sent Jim some help to see if his CD really is damaged. just in case) that there is a problem with the CD.  As Karl says, the sounds are much more pronounced that it can be disconcerting.

It seems that people order level 7 expecting it to be a down-hill slope and instead find rough terrain.   Level 7 is designed to be challenging simple because the end of the Brain Evolution System is really not that challenging.  Level 6 is more like a "polisher" to put the finishing touches on the gains you have made in the previous 5 levels.  This is why we consider level 7 to be optional, since there aren't that many people that feel they want to take their entrainment to the next level, however for those people that are looking for that "next stage" level 7 can certainly take you there.

I completed the original program at the end of last year and went back through each level again, ending in May.  Since May I have used levels 6 and 7 as I feel, 5 days a week.  I remember the rough period that started when I began level 7 and I experienced many of the discouragements that I've heard people talk about.  It isn't an easy path.  I imagine it as a forge, its a hot and unpleasant place where I can put my mind to be bent, tempered and folded and it comes out better and stronger each time.

The "unpleasantness" did seem to pass after 3-4 weeks and now I can listen to it with no problem.  I do seem to have "off" days where I will listen and it will be unpleasant again but it only appears to be a day here and there and I attribute it to mental stress and poor sleep the night before.

We do have many customers that have stuck it out and achieved great success with level 7 but it isn't for those that aren't prepared for the long-haul and a little personal introspection.

I would love to hear your experiences and have you post them on the forum if you would.  I think it would be great for people to see that if you put in the work, you will get the reward.  My problem is, if I post up my experiences and what I think, I am automatically "bias" and no one believes a word :)

As I said, maybe others will find this information helpful as well as they begin level 7.

Hello Everyone!

Okay, a little bit of an update for this thread...

I know that a few of you had concerns regarding Level 7.

The New Zealand rainfall was fast and hard, and didn't seem to work well for everyone. That's why we're actually releasing a second version, replacing that rainfall with the sound of a freshly-recorded babbling New Zealand brook.

We will work on releasing this over the next week, and everyone that bought Level 7 will get a FREE copy sent to them.

Thanks so much :)

Who does that?? BrainEv listens to its customers, and responds!!!!

That's an amazing level of care.

Thanks guys!

Don't be crazy -- without you guys, we wouldn't be able to put this material together in the first place.

So it's really for *us* to say *THANK YOU* for being with the program, for providing feedback, and for allowing us to help make the experience better for others in future.

We really do stand by that ethos, it's built into our policies and practices, and so long as I'm breathing, that's never gonna change! :)

Kindest wishes,

Karlos :)
